Who is Didier Delsalle?
On 14 May 2005, Didier Delsalle became the first — and only — person to land a helicopter on the summit of Mount Everest. The aircraft was an AS350 B3, the direct predecessor to the H125. The conditions were near-impossible: wind gusts above 299 km/h, oxygen so thin the engine was at its absolute limit. He sat on top of the world for 3 minutes and 50 seconds. Then he returned the next morning and did it again.
No one has matched it since.
Beyond Everest, Delsalle is a former French Air Force fighter pilot, a graduate of France's elite EPNER test pilot school, and served as Airbus Helicopters' Chief Test Pilot for the single-engine family — including the very aircraft you fly every day. He holds multiple FAI world records for helicopter climb speed.
He has visited Australia before. He has never run Masterclasses here.

Yes. You should be in the room if you are:
A fire operations or water bombing pilot — flying in high-pressure, high-consequence environments where performance margins matter
An aerial work or utility pilot — mustering, powerline and pipeline patrol, remote and demanding operational environments
An airlift or emergency services pilot — where precision, reliability and aircraft knowledge are non-negotiable
A charter pilot — corporate, tourism or general charter, operating the H125 in commercial environments
A flight instructor or Chief Flying Instructor — responsible for the standard to which others learn and operate this aircraft
Any H125 type-rated pilot working at an operational level, whatever your sector or hours on type

The Flight Package includes everything in the Theory Ticket, plus a 45-minute flying session in the H125 alongside Didier Delsalle (including pre-flight and sequence). There are only 4 flight sessions available at each location — once those seats are taken, the Flight Package is sold out for that event. Each session concludes with a personal debrief from Didier.

Flight sessions are subject to suitable flying conditions and aircraft serviceability on the day. In the unlikely event that flying is not possible, the AHIA will work with you to find a suitable resolution.

The Theory Ticket covers the full half-day theory program with Didier (approx. 8:00 am – 1:30 pm), morning tea, lunch, certificate of participation, and you are welcome to stay and observe the afternoon flight sessions. The Flight Package additionally includes your 45-minute flying session with Didier and an individual debrief.

Your licence and logbook if you have them, comfortable clothing suitable for being around aircraft, and a notepad if you like.
